City of Lincoln
William the Conqueror commissioned the magnificent Castle in 1068 and the Cathedral in 1072. See one of the only four originals of the Magna Carta, sealed by King John, in the Castle. Go through the Newport Arch, the only Roman Arch in Britain still used by traffic. Or visit Lincoln Cathedral, third largest in England, used recently as a location for the blockbuster film “The Da Vinci Code”, starring Tom Hanks.
