The live presentation of the Summer Game Fest is coming soon, with many enthusiasts excited to see what Geoff Keighley has up his sleeve. The presenter and producer, known for creating The Game Awards in addition to this fairly new summer presentation, wants all eyes on Thursday’s event and has sparked enthusiasm in recent weeks. However, the hype trader backed down somewhat, instructing people to keep their expectations under control.
Speaking in a Twitter Spaces session, Keighley analyzed some of the content so far confirmed for Summer Game Fest. He presents some games that we know will come to the show, but emphasizes that the event will be “focused primarily on the things that are announced.” In other words, we don’t get too many surprising announcements of new games.
“We have some new announcements on the show and hopefully some surprises if all goes well,” says Keighley, but urges fans to “definitely manage their expectations for the megaton shocks you expect.”
He continues: “We have a lot of good things to show you, but the buyer beware of some of the crazy rumors I see there about things that people expect to be told.”
So while it looks like we should be ready for a fun show, Summer Game Fest focuses on game updates already announced, with one or two brand new announcements sprinkled. .
