  • Open the Google Play Store app and scroll down to “My Apps.” You should see a pending update for the Assistant. If you don’t see an update there, use the Play Store search bar to search for “Google Assistant.”

  • Touch “Update” or “Install” to download the application.

  • Take your watch and sail to Settings> About clock> Software> Software version.
  • Keep tapping “Software version” until you see the message “Developer mode enabled”.
  • Now go back to the main settings page and you’ll see “Developer Options” just above “Software Update”.

  • Write down the IP address [192.168.XXX.XX] which appears under “Wi-Fi Troubleshooting”. Ignore 5555 at the end.

  • Remove the existing address and enter the IP address you wrote down on your watch. Touch OK to save and return to the home screen.
  • From there, tap the Plug icon in the upper right corner to establish the ADB connection to the clock. Make sure your watch and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

  • When prompted, grant the clock repair request.
  • From the list of installed apps, select APK Wizard and tap “Yes” to load sideways.
  • Wait for the transfer and installation to complete, which may take some time.
  • After successful installation, you should see the Assistant application in the application drawer.

How to remap the start button to launch the Google Assistant

The power button on the Galaxy Watch 4 is set to launch Bixby by default. Here’s how to remap it to Google Assistant:
