Kevin Costner will lead an exciting Calgary Stampede parade next month

Visitors to the iconic Calgary Stampede in July will recognize him as the parade marshal.

Kevin Costner, who has a 35-year career in entertainment, will make his way to the Alberta parade on July 8, marking his complete return for the first time in three years.

The connection between Costner and Calgary is personal, the actor said, noting how nice it was to have been elected parade marshal.

Costner and his band, Modern West, will also perform at the Big Four Roadhouse after the parade.

The prelude will start at 7:30, followed by the parade at 9 o’clock. Those who cannot be there in person can watch the live stream which will be available on the Stampede website.

The parade helps kick off the 10-day festival, called “The Biggest Outdoor Show on Earth.” It has a huge rodeo, and almost anything you would find at a huge state fair.

Calgary’s nightly entertainment, which coincides with the festival, includes country artists Jordan Davis, Tenille Townes, Lindsay Ell and others.

Until July 17, daily admission is $ 23 for adults, $ 15 for seniors, $ 14 for children ages 7 to 12 and free for children under 7.
