Samsung launches One UI Watch 4.5 beta for Galaxy Watch 4 series

Last week, Samsung released the One UI Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 4 series, inviting powerful users to try out the new Wear OS updates before the official release. The company has now released the first beta update for registered devices.

As Tizenhelp noted, One UI Watch 4.5 beta is now live for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The update has the firmware version R8 ** XXU1ZVE7 and weighs 796 MB. It is currently launching in South Korea, and other markets are set to follow suit soon.

In terms of new changes, One UI Watch 4.5 brings noticeable improvements to the clock screen, notifications, calls, and keyboard. The user interface of the clock screen has been improved, while new duo edge / box complications have been added. The update also adds dual SIM support, so you can now choose your preferred SIM to make calls. Currently, when you make a call from your Galaxy Watch 4, you can’t choose between SIMs - the call is automatically placed through the most commonly used SIM.

The latest beta update also improves notifications. There is a new unified composer with sketch support, and notifications can now display additional information with subtext field support. In addition, the default keyboard reaches Gboard by adding a QWERTY layout, continuous input, and uninterrupted handwriting and voice input. Finally, the update adds data, alarm names, notifications, and other features to the alarm settings.

In addition to the beta update, Samsung has also released the Galaxy Watch 4 beta plugin. The beta app is only available to those who have signed up for the beta program using the Samsung Members app.
