Should I install the iPadOS beta on my iPad?

iPads are versatile devices that meet different needs - including games, work, study and more. With each major release of the iPadOS, Apple further enhances these glass boards with new features. The company is slowly removing the limitations and constraints that iOS has left behind in this operating system. It still doesn’t offer the freedoms of a Mac, but now it’s much more advanced than an iPhone. It’s easy to install iPadOS beta to try Apple’s latest additions to the platform. However, is it wise to do that? The new features can be really tempting. However, pre-release versions can be full of bugs and unexpected behavior. Here’s our advice for you.

Unlike the Apple Watch, switching to a stable version in an iPad is relatively easy and achievable at home. So if you don’t like the iPadOS beta experience, you can get back to the stable version of the operating system. So you can at least try the beta and decide if it’s for you or not - assuming you know what you’re doing. If all this sounds confusing, it’s wise to avoid beta versions of your operating system.

In addition, if you’re using your iPad for work or study, it’s not a good idea to enroll in a beta program. Basic applications and functions may fail or be completely interrupted. If your iPad is just a media or entertainment device, then maybe it’s not bad to run iPadOS beta on it. Finally, the decision is not permanent and you can cancel it at any time if you change your mind with a computer.

Personally, I’ve been running iPadOS beta on my daily driver for the longest time. I’ve never encountered a breakup agreement before. Sometimes the battery life is affected or the user interface of some system elements breaks down - nothing too extreme, in my opinion. If you are looking for a sophisticated operating system, then definitely avoid beta.
