PlayStation has just supported the presentation of State of Play for June 2022, revealing a lot of new games, along with new trailers for those previously announced. A surprising trailer was the new “Rollerdrome” from the studio behind this year’s indie skateboarding hit, OlliOlli World, Roll7.
Set in a dystopian future in 2030, Rollderdome sees players take part in a new blood sport that combines roller skating with weapons. The trailer showed the clear visual design of the game, and the action players can expect to take part as they race around the maps and shoot different types of enemies that force you to adapt to their equipment. Even better, the game’s release date has been announced, and PlayStation players only have to wait until August 16 to try it out on their own.
Here’s what Roll7 has to say about the game itself:
The year is 2030 and you are a competitor in a new brutal blood sport - Rollerdrome. Combine elegant skateboarding tricks with devastating killings in slow motion, carefully choosing your weapons to deliver the killer blow and get to the end of the round … and maybe, with enough skill and hard work, to the end of the championship. To survive in the world of Rollerdrome, you will need to know the rules of the sport and the skills needed to give you a competitive edge.
- I skate or die: In Rollerdrome, slowing down or stopping is a surefire way to kill yourself. Watch the adrenaline and keep up the pace at all times - you have to move constantly and cut paths through the arena. Focus on dodging enemy attacks and doing tricks - both will replenish your ammunition. You can shoot at enemies to reduce their health and shake them as you go, but don’t be tempted to stop moving!
- He moves to sway: The placement of the enemies interrupts their attacks, and in the case of the Riot Guard (which is protected by a large metal shield) it will put them in a vulnerable state in which they will receive damage from all weapons.
- Reload: You earn ammo by doing tricks. The more complex the trick, the more ammunition you will be able to get. With the PS5 DualSense controller, you can feel the lack of resistance of the shutter when you’re not without bullets - use it to your advantage to let you know when your clip is empty and plan to keep your camera accordingly. full for next time.
Rollerdrome will be released on August 16, 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
